Building on the success established last year, The AHC 2017 will host a number of workshop sessions created to provide an intimate learning environment lead by industry specialists in their respective fields.
One of these highly focussed workshops will discuss recruitment and retention in the hospitality sector. Employees are a hotel's most important asset yet our industry is traditionally one of high staff turnover and low engagement. Working in the hospitality industry offers diversity, travel, career progression, skill development and the opportunity to meet new people every working day. How do we communicate this effectively to prospective entrants and sustain and nurture their enthusiasm throughout their careers?
|Jill Whittaker, Managing Director of HIT Training, is one of the experts who will lead this session alongside Jessica Berry, Talent Manager, The Doyle Collection, and Dawn Redman, Non-Executive Director, Hospitality Jobs UK.|
In advance of the conference, Jill said: “I’m really excited to be involved in the AHC’s workshop on staffing issues in hospitality. As we all know, the sector is the fourth largest employer in the UK and already struggling to keep up with the pace of growth. And, that’s before we take into consideration the impact Brexit will have on our talent pool. This session will provide a fantastic opportunity to discuss how we can tackle the challenge head on through greater awareness of the incredible career progression and apprenticeship training available for those new to and already in the industry.”
Full details of the programme can be found here including information on all plenary and workshop sessions.
The recruitment and retention workshop takes place on Thursday 12th October at 10.30 - 11.15 at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate Hotel. Tickets are still available for The AHC at www.theahc.co.uk including a significantly discounted hotelier rate. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for further information.
